We work to create a Danish position of strength within mega-infrastructure and to support business development in Region Zealand by:
developing a position of strength for Danish companies within more sustainable mega-infrastructure through innovation and collaboration – creating new technologies, materials, and processes
establishing a knowledge and learning center connected to the construction of the Fehmarn connection: a hub for cooperation between companies, students, and researchers with regional grounding and an international outlook
strengthening the upskilling of employees in construction and civil engineering and introducing the use of new technologies
inspiring and attracting more people to choose vocational education, building construction programs, or engineering through innovation challenges and collaboration across educational environments
About the Business Lighthouse Fehmarn
Northern Europe’s biggest construction project, the Fehmarn Belt link, and the future transportation corridor will ensure growth and development for many years to come.
The Business Lighthouse will be a lever to create innovation and knowledge, attract more companies and more tourists to the region and in this way create sustainable growth, jobs, and exports. This is the ambition behind the Business Lighthouse for sustainable construction and business development based on the Fehmarn Belt link.
Ambition and goals towards 2026:
- Strengthen the foundation for developing a position of strength within sustainable construction
- Establish a knowledge and learning center for sustainable mega-infrastructure
- Increase the supply of labour for sustainable construction and for harnessing the business opportunities created by the Fehmarn Belt connection
